ArcSoft Inc. has released PhotoImpression 5, the latest version of the photo editor and project maker for Mac and Windows. The upgrade boasts a new user interface in which the various functions and options are segregated into projects. Also, the enhancement tools are grouped together, separate from the printing commands.
PhotoImpression is a US$39.99 image-manipulation program featuring point-and-click editing to retouch and enhance images, as well as a range of special effects. Also included is a selection of templates for creating cards, calendars and printing images, as well as templates for inserting images into magazine covers, tourist attractions, sports events and other fantasy situations. PhotoImpression includes a step-by-step project interface and onscreen design.
The application boasts color-correcting tools, a red eye removal tool (which now offers an “automatic” mode), and broad editing commands. It’s compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.x.
