Automatic Duck Inc.
on Monday announced the release of Automatic Duck Pro Import 2.0. The software acts as a plug-in for Adobe After Effects or Boris RED 3GL, and enables editors and artists to import edited sequences from Avid systems and Apple Final Cut Pro 3.0 into Adobe After Effects or Boris Red.
Automatic Duck Pro Import 2.0 supports Mac OS X and Windows, and it enables users to import and export timelines, media and effects automatically — a process that can take hours when done manually, according to the developers.
The new version of Automatic Duck Pro Import sports translation of more Avid effects like Picture-in-Picture, Resize, 3D Warp, Superimpose and 3D Picture-in-Picture. Translation of audio levels and keyframes from Avid and Final Cut Pro into After Effects has been added, as has AAF import, including translation of Avid locators into After Effects and RED.
Also new to this version is a feature requested by users that allows Final Cut Pro timelines to be imported into After Effects on Windows (up until now, this has only been supported on the Mac). And the new version also adds compatibility with After Effects v6.0.
The software ships for US$495. Upgrades are available for $195.
