Applied Acoustics Systems on Tuesday released Lounge Lizard EP-2 Electric Piano for Mac OS X. A virtual instrument, it recreates the classic electric piano sound, based on AAS’S own physical modeling technology.
Lounge Lizard EP-2 Electric Piano now includes a key release model that offers greater realism, according to AAS. You can choose between the Lounge Lizard’s original pickup model, which offers “bite and growl,” or a new secondary model that’s built more for “crystal clean tones.” The browser interface has been tweaked and the virtual instrument DSP (Digital Signal Processing) engine has been optimized for greater performance. The Electric Piano also now supports Digidesign’s RTAS plug-in format for Pro Tools 6.x.
Lounge Lizard EP-2 Electric Piano requires Mac OS X 10.2 or later and 128MB of RAM. The cost is US$199 for a downloadable version and $249 for a boxed version. If you bought the EP-1 after June 1, you can upgrade to the EP-2 for $49. Manuals are available in English, French, German and Spanish.
