The MathWorks on Monday announced the availability of their new Fixed-Income Toolbox, which offers building blocks for developing customized fixed-income models. The US$1,000 tool is compatible with the Mac, PC, Unix and Linux platforms.
Built on MATLAB — software that provides core mathematics and advanced graphical tools for data analysis, visualization and algorithm and application development — the new Fixed-Income Toolbox offers financial professionals more than 60 built-in functions for calculating bond prices, yields and spreads. It provides functionality for working with derivatives, such as swaps, convertible bonds and treasury futures, and supports a variety of financial instruments, including mortgage-backed securities, corporate bonds and treasury bills.
In addition to fixed-income functionality, the MathWorks provides data I/O tools that let users exchange data between MATLAB and various databases or Excel files. You can also download real-time information from financial data services such as Bloomberg.
