Chaparral Software Inc. on Monday released new versions of Brushfire and EZxslt, their FileMaker developer tools.
Brushfire, a cross platform tool, detects and organizes FileMaker Pro script errors, details, and cross-reference information from all files of FileMaker Developer 5.5 or later. The main difference between Brushfire 2 and the previous version (1.5) is the number and type of FileMaker objects analyzed and the depth of the reports. The new version presents more error reports, provides more details about the interdependency of FileMaker Pro objects on the File level, as well as complete Uses and Used-By cross referencing for fields, layouts, relations and scripts.
Brushfire 2 is available immediately for Mac OS X (a Windows version is due this fall) at a suggested retail price of US$279.95 for a single platform, with a $249.95 limited time discounted price available. Upgrades from previous versions cost $129.95.
EZxslt is designed to make it easy to generate Microsoft Word documents using data stored in FileMaker Pro 6 databases. Version 1.5 adds capabilities that support tables, headers, and footers, and offers finer control over the generated output. EZxslt requires FileMaker Pro 6.0v4 (or higher) and works with a range of Microsoft Word versions on both Mac and Windows systems. Version 1.5 is available immediately with licensing starting at $129.95 and upgrades starting at $29.95.
Through Wednesday, Aug. 27, Chaparral is offering a “conference bundle” of both Brushfire and EZxslt for $299.95 for FileMaker consultants and corporate customers. This special is available to all customers through the Chaparral Web site.
