Runtime Revolution has released Revolution v2.1, a new version of their multiplatform software development environment. The software works on Mac OS, Windows, Linux and Unix. This release improves Mac OS X support and adds new features.
Revolution includes features like XML support, support for multimedia objects, SQL database access, Internet access and more. It was developed to let users create everything from custom applications to database front ends and more, working across multiple platforms without needing to extensively rewrite code.
Revolution v2.1 improves conformity with Mac OS X interface style guidelines, with support for drawers and metal appearance in Mac OS X and improved support for Aqua. Revolution v2.1 also offers support for MySQL, PostgreSQL, ODBC and Valentina database systems, and adds system palettes that float above all applications.
Runtime Revolution is offering a 50 percent off offer for new customers, as well. Revolution Express is now available for $75; Revolution Studio costs $199 and Revolution Enterprise costs $599.
