Toshiba’s Computer Systems Group (CSG) on Tuesday announced the availability of two new portable digital projectors, including one that includes a detachable document camera. Both systems are shipping now.
The TLP-S10U weighs 4.8 pounds and projects at 1,200 ANSI lumens. Priced at US$999, the TLP-S10U sports 800×600 pixel resolution and includes keystone correction capabilities, operating at 32dBA in “economy mode.”
The TLP-S10U sports composite video and S-Video input in addition to a 15-pin VGA input; it also has a stereo mini-jack for audio input. It can display NTSC, PAL, SECAM, HDTV and computer video signals. It’s encased in a silver metallic chassis.
The TLP-S41U weighs 6.2 pounds and projects 1,600 ANSI lumens with 400:1 contrast ratio. The $1,799 project sports many of the same features as the lower-priced TLP-S10U model, like composite video and S-Video input, VGA and stereo mini-jack audio input, and 800×600 pixel native resolution.
The TLP-S41U touts a detachable document camera, however — the device can be unclipped and positioned to display 3D objects, fine print text or photographic samples, in addition to whatever is on the computer screen or video input source.
