Radical Breeze has announced DiscBlaze 2.0, a new version of their CD and DVD burning software for Mac OS X. What’s more, the company is offering a “preview release” of the software for download.
DiscBlaze offers a few improvements over Mac OS X’s built-in disc burning capabilities. It doesn’t require users to work with desktop images that duplicate files first before burning — faster than the Finder’s method, according to Radical Breeze. It can also burn multi-session discs, and can erase CD-RW and DVD-RW discs.
The new version of DiscBlaze features a redesigned interface, can now save and load “Burn Lists,” and can burn images created using Roxio’s Toast software. DiscBlaze 2.0 displays the total size of the data you’re about to burn along with the free space on the disc.
Radical Breeze said the software is being offered as a preview release to give users a chance to comment on and influence the final release — scheduled for September. The developers advise that some features may not be implemented or working properly on all configurations.
DiscBlaze 2.0 costs US$19 to register. More details are available from the Web site.
