Intelli Innovations on Tuesday released Site Turbo, which it bills as a “Web site optimization tool for Mac OS X.”
Site Turbo optimizes HTML by removing unnecessary markup tags and white space, and reduces file size. It has options to change lengthy HTML tags to shorter variants, and sports a META tag checker that removes unnecessary generator and author tags. It also edits out HTML editor tags.
Site Turbo also optimizes GIF, JPEG and PNG image files, removing extra resources and data to improve download time. It can also encode e-mail addresses in processed HTML documents, to protect them from spam harvesters, according to the developers.
The software features a drag and drop interface — Site Turbo copies the original file, optimizes it, and places processed files on the desktop for upload to a Web server.
Site Turbo is compatible with Mac OS X v10.2 or later. It costs US$39.95 and can be purchased through the Intelli Innovations e-store. A demo is available from the Site Turbo Web page.
