Sendstation Systems on Wednesday announced plans to begin shipping its PocketDock peripheral starting September, 12, 2003. The PocketDock is a diminutive adapter that enables third-generation iPods equipped with dock connectors to attach to regular 6-pin FireWire cables.
The PocketDock plugs into the bottom of the iPod, where the dock interface is. On the lower portion of the PocketDock lies a six-pin female FireWire connector, suitable for connecting the iPod to a FireWire equipped Mac or accessories designed to work with previous-model iPods.
The PocketDock will be available on September 12, 2003 for US$18.95, first from SendStation Systems itself and then from authorized resellers. SendStation Systems is offering a pre-order price of $16.95.
