The Big Nerd Ranch — which offers training classes for Mac OS X and Unix programmers in a lodge outside Atlanta, Ga. — will launch its revised Cocoa training class next month. The class has been modified to incorporate the new features of Panther, the upcoming version of Mac OS X, and Xcode, Apple’s new developer tools.
Students of the course will receive the first draft of the second edition of Aaron Hillegass’s book, “Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X.” The Xcode IDE and the new bindings mechanism will be covered in the revised course. (Cocoa is Apple’s object-oriented development environment.)
The US$3,500 class price includes lodging, all meals, instruction materials, 24-hour lab access and transportation to and from the Atlanta airport. Students are encouraged to bring independent projects to class, allowing for input from classmates and individual instructor attention. The complete course syllabus is online.
