The shareware developers at MMISoftware have released three new programs: JPEGCleaner 1.0, WebSiteCleaner and QuickWebAlbum. All are Mac OS X compatible and cost US$5 each.
JPEGCleaner removes unnecessary data such as meta-data and resource forks from JPEG and GIF files. This results in smaller files that are quicker to send by e-mail and require less storage space.
WebSiteCleaner removes unnecessary characters from HTML files and prepares JPEG and GIF files for use on the Web. The result, according to MMISoftware, is a smaller Web site that loads faster and uses less bandwidth.
QuickWebAlbum creates photograph albums from a folder of JPEG files. Two types of album can be created: one that provides a page of thumbnail images linked to large versions of the pictures and one that automatically changes images to produce a “slideshow.”
The programs are written using Apple development tools and the Cocoa object-oriented development environment.
