Apple’s own Games site has turned its attention to Warrior Kings, a new 3D real-time strategy game published by Feral Interactive. The new game encourages players to choose from three different paths that affect the outcome of the game.
Warrior Kings is set in a medieval land called Orbis, which the developer describes as an “alternative historical Europe” where the superstitions and belief systems played out in real life. In fact, some of the game’s elements are based in actual history, according to designer Charlie Bewsher, who told Apple that the game’s main bad guy, called The Patriarch, is based on a 17th century pope.
As a real-time strategy game, Warrior Kings encourages players to construct and upgrade buildings, collect resources, and put together armies. But unlike other games where you select from races or species with unique attributes, Warrior Kings encourages you to choose between Imperial, Paganism and Renaissance paths, all of which give you access to certain options not available through other paths — technology, spirits and divine intervention, for example.
Apple’s feature includes screenshots and details about the game, a walkthrough of the first mission, cheat codes and more.
