The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) will arrest a teenager it has identified as the author of one of the variants of the W32.Blaster worm, according to a report published Friday.
The unnamed 18-year old, believed by the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to be the author of the Blaster-B variant, is expected to be arrested in Seattle later in the day, according to the online edition of The Wall Street Journal. Officials at the FBI and DOJ could not be reached for comment.
A news conference by the Seattle offices of the DOJ and FBI is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Pacific Time Friday.
