UK-based Mac game publisher Feral Interactive announced that it’s shipping its Macintosh conversion of Warriors Kings, a 3D real-time strategy game. The game is shipping worldwide and is expected to hit retail store shelves starting next week.
Feral launched a demo of Warrior Kings earlier this month; the game’s been downloaded more than 20,000 times, according to Feral. It also garnered the attention of Apple itself, which featured Warrior Kings on its Games site earlier this week.
Warrior Kings’ Mac conversion was handled by Zonic Ltd., a frequent development partner of Feral’s that has previously managed the PC-to-Mac conversions of Black & White, Sim Theme Park and F1 Championship Season 2000.
Warrior Kings puts players in the role of a young king who must wrest control of his empire from the hands of usurpers. The game employs classic real-time strategy elements — resource management, troop creation and 3D terrain — with a twist: Players choose between Imperial, Paganism or Renaissance paths, all of which grant you access to certain options not available through other paths.
Warrior Kings also supports multiplayer gaming for up to 8 players through the GameRanger Mac-only game matching service.
System requirements for Warrior Kings calls for Mac OS X v10.1.3 or later or Mac OS 9.1 or later; G3/500MHz; 128MB RAM (256MB for OS X); 750MB free hard disk space and a video card with at least 8MB of video RAM. More details are available from Feral’s Web site.
