EZQuest on Wednesday announced that it’s shipping its new Boa Slim DVD-RW drive — an external optical drive for Macs and PCs. The device is equipped with FireWire and USB.20 interfaces, and comes with Mac OS and Windows software.
The Boa Slim DVD-RW measures 6 x 5.5 x .75 inches and can draw its power from the FireWire port. It burns DVD-Rs at 2x, DVD-RWs at 2x, CD-Rs at 16x and CD-RWs at 8x. It can read DVD-ROMs at up to 8x and CD-ROM at up to 24x.
EZQuest ships the drive with a cable and software — Pixela IMX is included to encode iMovie projects to MPEG-2 format and burn DVDs. CharisMac software is included for burning CDs and DVDs. The company also includes Retrospect Express from Dantz for using the drive for automatic backups.
EZQuest sells the drive for US$359. Visit the site for more information.
