on Monday announced iView MediaPro 2.0, the latest version of the image editing application targeted to photographers, broadcast journalists, graphic designers and other media professionals. The update offers enhanced drag & drop annotations workflow and increases its capacity to 128,000 media items per catalog. iView MediaPro 2.0, which costs US$160, is compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.x.
iView is designed to offer a cataloging methodology via a single window interface. Its features include automatic Web generation, slide show, IPTC and EXIF annotations, file conversion, contact sheets, voice annotation, rendering of digital camera raw file formats and AppleScript integration.
Version 2.0 offers direct control over the file system, including individual and batch renaming and the moving and deleting of files and folders. The Advanced Folder Panel allows automatic synchronization and watching between folders on disk and the contents of catalogs. There’s now support for producing customized high-resolution PDF files of any size and layout using the media in a catalog. iView MediaPro 2.0 adds automatic use of Color profiles in all work flows and improved batch embedding of color profiles with live previews. Finally, there’s enhanced editing tools such as preset and auto enhancement, red eye reduction, resize, color calibration and more.
