Maxon Computer on Tuesday announced the release of updates to Cinema 4D and BodyPaint 3D. Cinema 4D is Maxon’s 3D modeling, animation and rendering package; BodyPaint 3D is Maxon’s 3D painting software.
Cinema 4D Release 8.2 features more than two dozen interface and workflow improvements, according to the developer — the material manager sports more efficient organization; related materials used throughout a scene are more easily available; and several different display modes help users optimize screen usage. Menus and layouts can also be recorded as customized sets and switched as necessary. Up to five mouse buttons can be assigned to different functions.
BodyPaint 3D Release 1.1, meanwhile, has been updated to stay in lockstep with Cinema 4D R8.2. The new version also gains workflow improvements like a combined display of materials and layers, asynchronous dialogs and new choices among UV-sets. OpenGL is now supported within the editor while orbiting around the model — the software automatically switches to the highest-quality software shading during painting.
Both updates are offered for free to registered users. More information about the updates is available from Maxon’s Web site.
