Music software maker Native Instruments GmbH announced Tuesday the release of an updated version of FM7, its FM synthesizer. It also released a demo of Reaktor 4, its modular sound studio.
FM7, available for both Mac and Windows, has been updated to version 1.1.1. The new version now supports Mac OS X AudioUnits, according to the company, along with RTAS and VST formats. It can also operate as a standalone application when used in conjunction with Mac OS X’s CoreMIDI and CoreAudio technology.
The updated version of FM7 is available as a download for registered users for US$29. The update can also be purchased bundled with the FM7 Sounds Vol.1 preset collection for $59. (CD versions of the upgrade are also available for an additional price.
In related news, Native Instruments’ Reaktor 4 modular sound studio is now available as a downloadable demo for either Mac or Windows. The software can be used to craft together hundreds of software instruments, and includes a collection of synthesizers, samplers, drum machines, loop tools, sequencers, effects units and much more.
