Mark/Space has released the Missing Sync for the Garmin iQue 3600. With the utility you can HotSync a Garmin iQue 3600 — a combination PDA and GPS device — to Mac OS X via Palm Desktop 4.x and mount a SD or MMC media card on the Mac OS X desktop as an external “drive.”
You can also treat the handheld as a source in iTunes. For example, you can load your SD or MMC card with songs, then listen to them with the AeroPlayer application (which is included with the Missing Sync purchase.) You can also import and export between iPhoto and your Garmin iQue 3600. This lets you view your pictures with SplashPhoto by SplashData — also included with the purchase.
However, Missing Sync for the Garmin iQue 3600 doesn’t offer any type of map generation support for the Mac. Mark/Space says this is because Garmin uses a proprietary mapping format that’s Windows only. Maps for the Garmin iQue 3600 must be generated on a PC or by using Virtual PC on the Mac.
Missing Sync for the Garmin iQue 3600 requires an iQue 3600 handheld, Mac OS X (10.2 and better), a Mac with a USB port, Palm Desktop 4.x, iTunes 2.0.4-4.x, iPhoto 1.1.1-2.x, and a SD or MMC card for desktop mounting, iTunes and iPhoto plug-ins. It costs US$29.95.
