Attendees of this week’s Seybold Seminars and OracleWorld were evacuated late this afternoon due to a bomb scare. Both tradeshows are held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.
At approximately 3:00 pm Pacific today a message read over the intercom by officials asked attendees of OracleWorld to evacuate Moscone North and South (the halls where Macworld Conference and Expo are held). Shortly after Moscone West, which housed Seybold Seminars, was also evacuated.
The blocks around Moscone quickly filled up with fire trucks and police as they closed off the road.
One person that spoke with MacCentral said the evacuation was orderly and everyone was cooperative. There was no word when the shows would reopen.
