SubRosaSoft on Thursday released HomeGuardian, a US$34.95 Mac OS X compatible application that turns a Mac and a Web camera into a security system. It integrates motion detection with reporting options.
Designed as a security system for homes and small offices, HomeGuardian uses your Web cam as a motion detector. When motion is detected, it takes photographs and sends them to a designated e-mail address. It also plays sounds and on-screen alerts when movement is detected — or at regular intervals.
HomeGuardian can update images to your Web server for evidence. And you can save alerts and reports to a designated folder.
