During his Saturday keynote at the International Broadcasting Convention (IBC) 2003, Phil Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, demonstrated the company’s suite of professional post-production software tools, including a preview of a pre-release version of Final Cut Pro 4 optimized for the Power Mac G5. He also re-asserted Apple’s ongoing commitment to the professional creative markets.
Other highlights of Schiller’s speech before a crowd of 500 included demos of Shake 3 by Apple’s Dion Scoppettuolo and DVD Studio Pro by product marketing manager Brian Schmidt. IBC 2003 is dedicated to content creation, management and delivery. The event takes place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from September 12-16. It has more than 1,000 exhibitors and more than 40,000 attendees from over 100 countries.
Apple has a major presence at the show (Hall 7, Stand 621). Apple’s Hot News segment has an Amsterdam report with photographs and a list of third-party, Mac-compatible products being showcased.
