Mac game publisher Aspyr Media today noted that its conversions of the Zoo Tycoon expansion pack Marine Mania and Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer have both gold, the last step before the games are put into duplication.
Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer is the latest game that Aspyr has brought from the console realm to both Macintosh and Windows. Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer puts you in the role of the eponymous pro surfer or one of eight other pro surfers as you compete to win 30 levels. The game features real locations, sponsored, licensed surfboards, authentic accessories and wetsuits and more.
System requirements for Kelly Slater’s Pro Surfer include Mac OS X v10.2.3 or later; G4/700MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 520MB hard disk space; ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or better 3D graphics acceleration with at least 32MB of video memory.
Marine Mania, meanwhile, is a Mac-only conversion of an expansion pack aimed at players of Aspyr’s recently released strategy game Zoo Tycoon. In Zoo Tycoon you have to create a successful zoo by laying out exhibits that both the animals and the customers enjoy, and complete your park with concessions and attractions that are interesting and fun.
Marine Mania is actually a “double expansion pack,” because it adds not only marine animals like killer whales, bottlenose dolphins, great white sharks and giant squid, but it also includes “Dinosaur Digs,” an expansion pack that lets you add more than 20 prehistoric beasts to your zoo too.
You’ll need the original Zoo Tycoon to play Marine Mania, and Marine Mania’s system requirements are the same as the original game: Mac OS X v10.1 or later or Mac OS 9.2 or later, G3/233MHz or faster; 128MB RAM; 600MB hard disk space; and 16MB video card.
