Panic on Wednesday released an update to its FTP client software for Mac OS X,
Transmit. The new version, 2.6, adds support for SubEthaEdit (formerly Hydra) as a text editor and more. With Transmit, users can connect to servers that support the File Transfer Protocol (FTP), an Internet standard for file sharing.
Transmit sports features like toolbars, drawers and sheets, a Favorites manager, path shortcuts, image and text previews, support for the SSH and SFTP protocols, and much more.
TheCodingMonkeys’ SubEthaEdit is a distributed text editor that utilizes Jaguar’s Rendezvous technology to share documents over a local network or the Internet. With Transmit’s support for SubEthaEdit, users can now share text documents they download through FTP using Transmit. The updated version of Transmit also displays the number of items in file lists, fixes interface bugs associated with Apple’s forthcoming Mac OS X v10.3 (Panther) release, fixes bugs and more.
Transmit v2.6 is a free update for registered users. A new license costs US$24.95.
