Hot on the heels of SpamSieve v2.0’s release, C-Command has released an incremental update that improves performance, reliability, fixes bugs and more. SpamSieve v2.0.1 is ready for download from its Web site.
SpamSieve adds Bayesian filtering to e-mail client software including Microsoft Entourage, Eudora, Emailer, Mailsmith and PowerMail. The net result is that you’re looking at more valid e-mail and a lot less spam. The software integrates with Mac OS X’s Address Book, maintains a blocklist and a whitelist, maintains statistics on its accuracy, and much more.
The new version of SpamSieve replaces the database engine used to store its corpus with custom code. It also uses an improved file format for loading and saving rules. A Memory leak and crashing bug have both been fixed, and other changes have been made as well. You can review a version history of the 2.0.1 release online.
SpamSieve requires Mac OS X v10.1.5 or later and one of the e-mail clients listed above. It costs US$20 and is available as a 30-day trial demo. This update is free for registered users of previous versions.
