Redstone Software Inc. released version 1.4 of Eggplant at this week’s Apple Expo in Paris, France. The update includes tools for enhanced software, hardware and systems testing; it’s Mac OS X compatible.
Eggplant 1.4 includes the ability to send e-mail, post data to a URL and initiate phone calls using iVeena, a voice e-mail delivery and response system that works with any phone. The new version also includes tools for obtaining enhanced results and statistics, such as the ability to customize results from script control.

In other developer news, Pyramid Design has announced that version 3.0 of FTP Suite should arrive in November. FTP Suite is a set of classes and code modules that allows FTP operations to be implemented in REALbasic applications. REALbasic is the development environment from Real Software.
Announced 3.0 features include multiple language capability; a variable send buffer size; an open Status Class that will provide three Events that can be utilized to report errors, transfer status and transfer successful events; a Fine Transfer Sequence control; and more.
Starting immediately, upgrade pricing will be US$9.95 for a hobbyist and $19.95 for a professional license. Source code licenses aren’t affected and source code licensees can request the latest version whenever they like. Hobbyist and professional pricing remains at $29.95 and $59.95, respectively.
