on Monday announced that its Mac OS X data storage product Serial Storage has been redubbed Safeguard. The newly renamed software has also had its version number reset to v1.0 and now sports new features and other enhancements.
The name change was made to reflect the software’s extension beyond simple serial number storage, according to Chronopath. The new version also features a redesigned interface, and has added iPod synch, improved data retrieval and write speeds, a new default entry kind property to folders, folder notes, live filter, password generator, entry log clear button, delimited text import and export, and lots more.
What’s more, Safeguard has also gotten improved performance when used with Mac OS X v10.3, “Panther,” Apple’s upcoming release.
Distributed as shareware, Safeguard costs US$15 for new users. This upgrade is free for registered Serial Storage users. A free trial version is available for download.
