The National Association of Photoshop Professionals will open the second day (Oct. 1) of its PhotoshopWorld tech expo to the public, providing hands-on training, lectures, product demonstrations, and prizes to an expected 5,000 graphic designers, Web designers and digital photographers.
The PhotoshopWorld Conference & Expo is the annual convention for the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP). The 2003 show will be held at the Miami (Fla.) Convention Center Sept. 30-Oct. 2. There will be over 60 educational sessions and 12 after-hours events for graphic designers, digital photographers, Web, and digital video professionals. There will also be an expanded expo hall for showcasing new product releases.
Also on Wednesday, Oct. 1, representatives from Apple, Nikon, Quark, Pantone, Corel, Extensis and nik Multimedia will give 30-60-minute training sessions on their products in the expo theater. Adobe will feature a 30-station lab equipped with computers from Apple and Dell and will give hands-on training on their new Photoshop technology. Wacom will give hands-on tablet training in their booth and Photoshop experts will answer questions about Photoshop techniques at the Help Desk.
What’s more, Adobe will reveal new Photoshop technology, while Nikon will showcase new cameras, lenses and software not yet in stores. Other newly-released products to be demoed include the Power Mac G5, QuarkXPress 6.0, Corel Painter 8 and the Wacom Platinum Tablet. Raffles will be held for products such as Nikon cameras, iPods, Wacom tablets, Adobe software and Photoshop training materials totaling $25,000.
