Logitech on Tuesday introduced the Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks, which comes with a key-sized USB receiver designed for laptop users. Compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 8.6-9.x, it costs US$39.95.
Sporting an ambidextrous design, optical sensor and silver finish, the Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks has an on/off switch located on the button of the mouse and a battery life of over six months, according to Logitech. The mouse and receiver fit into the include carrying case. You can plug and unplug the receiver, turn the notebook on/off and exchange the batteries without losing the connection between the mouse and the receiver.
The Cordless Optical Mouse for Notebooks uses Logitech’s Fast RF Cordless technology operating at 27MHz, enabling the mouse to be used up to six feet away. It has three programmable buttons, including a middle button that also serves as a scroll wheel, and comes with MouseWare software.
