Midnight Mage Software, a development group based in Manassas, Va., on Wednesday announced RollCall 1.0, a tool that provides a variety of printing options for the Address Book application in Mac OS (10.2 and higher). For example, RollCall lets you print usable hard copy of your complete Address Book or any part of it, as well as mailing labels by group or individual.
You can control specific areas of content of the Address Book to show such areas as names, company names, multiple phone numbers and addresses, e-mail addresses, instant messaging names and birthdays. You can set multiple columns, change font size and format your display options. With RollCall, you an print out separate Address Books for specific needs by choosing which group or groups to include. For instance, you can have one for listings such as professional contacts, club members or church groups, and another for your children’s friends or a Christmas card list.
When you first launch RollCall, the application automatically brings up the main display window. Select the Address Book tab (if it’s not already selected) and the window will show you the image of what you can expect to see on the printed page. Plus, you can go to print at any time. You can go to the Layout menu, or to the tool bar buttons to change which group or directory you want, which fields to display, and what picture or graphic to include.
With RollCall, you can print mailing labels from Address Book by choosing the Mailing Labels tab and a pop-up window will, again, show you the image of what you can expect to see on the printed page. Select what group you want labels for and hit the print button. RollCall includes all the informational fields you need for complete U.S. mailing labels.
RollCall costs US$14.95. A demo version is available for download from the Midnight Mage Web site.
