Aspyr Media Inc. announced Wednesday that its Mac conversion of X2 Wolverine’s Revenge is done and is in replication. The company expects the game to hit store shelves by mid-October.
X2 Wolverine’s Revenge features Marvel Comics’ enormously popular Wolverine — a mutant superhero that forms part of the X-Men. Equipped with preternatural healing abilities, superpowered senses and razor-sharp claws made of an unbreakable metal alloy known as adamantium, Wolverine is one of the X-Men’s most powerful and most vicious members. He also has a mysterious history that this game helps to unravel.
X2 Wolverine’s Revenge brings players to Wolverine’s murky past, where he escaped from the headquarters of a secret organization that imbued him with his special abilities. In this game Wolverine is implanted with a deadly virus that will kill him within 48 hours unless the antidote is discovered.
A third-person shooter, X2 Wolverine’s Revenge puts you in the action as he is aided by allies like fellow mutants Professior Xavier, Colossus and Beast while he faces off against foes like Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Magneto, Lady Deathstrike and Wendigo.
System requirements for X2 Wolverine’s Revenge call for Mac OS X v10.2.6 or later; G4/733MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 1.7GB hard disk space; ATI Radeon or Nvidia GeForce2 MX or faster video card with at least 32MB of VRAM.
Aspyr is still accepting pre-orders for the game. It will carry a suggested retail price of US$49.99 when it’s released.
