Apple’s own Games site has turned its attention to MacSoft’s forthcoming release of Age of Mythology, the strategy game created by the makers of Age of Empires.
Age of Mythology brings you back to ancient times of legend as you guide one of nine different civilizations to greatness, using mythological creatures likes Minotaurs and Cyclopses to bolster the strength of your military forces.
Created by Ensemble Studios, makers of the Age of Empires series, the game is currently in development by Westlake Interactive and is anticipated for an October, 2003 release on the Macintosh. Details are available from MacSoft’s Web site, as well.
Apple’s Brad Cook talks with Ensemble about some of the game’s features, and fleshes out what Age of Mythology brings to the table — like a single-player campaign and multiplayer capabilities, the ability to use swap maps between Mac and PC versions, and more.
Look for a QuickTime movie trailer of Age of Mythology in action to appear on Apple’s Web site in the coming days, as well.
