Mac game publisher Freeverse Software has announced that its newest game Active Lancer has gone gold and is off to duplication. The game should soon be on the shelves of Apple retail stores and other locations.
Active Lancer is a vertical-scrolling action arcade game featuring an elite team of flying soldiers sent on a mission to defeat an alien army. The game supports one or two players as you fly over a scrolling landscape to defeat wave after wave of alien vehicles, gun turrets and other nasties — fifteen levels in all. The game also features five different “bosses,” upgradeable weapons, and three different selectable pilots with unique strengths.
Although Freeverse is mainly known as a purveyor of card and board games, the company has struck gold with its arcade games before. Freeverse has published Airburst, an arcade game originally developed by Strange Flavour, and has also published Wingnuts, reminiscent of the classic arcade Time Pilot.
Active Lancer requires Mac OS X 10.x or higher or Mac OS 8.6 or higher; G3/333MHz or faster processor; 64MB RAM, 56MB available; and 330MB hard disk space.
