The Portland, Ore., Macintosh Users Group (PMUG) is offering a seminar for anyone interested in learning more about how helpful a database can be in personal and business needs. Also, the Macintosh Business Users Society of Greater Philadelphia (MacBUS) will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 30, at 6:30 p.m.
The PMUG class will meet from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, in the Galleria, room 315, between 9th and 10th, at Alder and Morrison, next to the Max line in downtown Portland. Cost is US$60 fort PMUG members and $102 to non-members. Advance registration is necessary; leave a message (503-224-4289) or send e-mail.
This month’s MacBUS meeting will include a presentation by Dave Marra, an Apple senior systems engineer, who will offer a look at Panther, the upcoming version of Mac OS X. Panther is due for release sometime before the end of the year. The meeting will be held at the University of the Arts, 320 S. Broad Street.
MacBUS claims to be the only user group in the U.S. that focuses on the business and professional uses of the Macintosh operating system. They have a membership of 75.
