Group Logic has released a beta version of its Mac OS X native MassTransit Enterprise Server product to qualified customers. The product is due for final release late this year; pricing will be announced upon its release.
MassTransit serves as a “digital shipping and receiving department” that automates and manages the process of transferring graphics, multimedia, and other production files between print media suppliers and their customers. Combining its features with Mac OS X’s capabilities will provide better performance due to the Apple operating system’s pre-emptive multi-tasking and protected mode memory, according to Andy Lewis, Group Logic’s vice president of sales and marketing.
The Mac OS X version of MassTransit will offer new options for hosting the product’s Web file transfer workflows. There will also be integrated security for Web-based file transfer workflows and more flexibility in designing file transfer system architectures through Mac OS X’s networking enhancements, Lewis said.
