Agfa Monotype Corp. on Wednesday announced the addition of the entire collections of four type foundries to its Fonts.com service. Fonts.com provides a way for graphic designers and others to peruse and order fonts online. The new fonts are available in both Mac and Windows flavors.
Carter & Cone’s collection includes Big Caslon, a revival of the display designs created to complement the classic Caslon typeface. Also included are Sophia, an all-cap typeface. Available in PostScript format, prices start at US$60 for individual fonts and volumes for $100.
Aboutype focuses on contemporary designs like Bitters, which features grotesque letterforms combined with thin drop shadows; New Horizon Titling, an all-cap headline face and more. Available in PostScript and TrueType, the fonts start at $24 and are available in volumes starting at $38.
Mad Irishman’s fonts are inspired by ancient decorative writing; featured fonts include Baldur, an uncial typeface modeled after Roman manuscript. Miyama is a faux-Asian design. Nine different fonts and font packages are available in PostScript and TrueType fonts, priced starting at $22 for individual fonts or volumes for $62.
PampaType features Latin-influenced fonts designed to handle Spanish language work specifically, like the Rayeula family. Eight PampaType fonts are available in PostScript and Truetype with volumes priced beginning at $84.
