Dantz Development Corp. has released an update to Retrospect 5.1 that makes the backup software compatible with Apple’s Power Mac G5s.
The free updater for registered users of Retrospect 5.1 is available at the Dantz Web site. It updates the existing 5.1 version to a version compatible with the G5; users of previous editions need to pay for the 5.1 upgrade. For new users, Dantz Retrospect 5.1 for Macintosh is available in three editions.
Retrospect Server backs up a local Mac and 100 networked clients at a suggested list price of US$799; upgrades are $159. Retrospect Workgroup backs up a local Mac and 20 networked desktop or notebook clients. It costs $499; upgrades are $99.95. Retrospect Desktop backs up one local Mac or notebook computer and two networked desktops or notebook clients. It costs $129; upgrades are $59.95. Additional client packs are available for Retrospect 5.1, as are annual support and maintenance contracts, which provide unlimited technical support and complimentary upgrades.
