Island bands Thursday and Thrice will perform at the Apple retail stores in New York City and Santa Monica, Calif. on Wednesday night, Oct. 15, respectively.
Thursday will hit the stage at the Apple Store SoHo (103 Prince Street in New York City) at 7 p.m. Eastern. On the other coast at 7 p.m. Pacific, Thrice will open up at the Apple Store in Santa Monica (1248 Third Street Promenade). The performances kick off a tour with both hard rock bands that begins Oct. 17 in Pennsylvania and which is presented by Alternative Press Magazine and MTV2.
The music that Thursday and Thrice perform at the Apple stores will be available exclusively for purchase on Apple’s iTunes Music Store. Both events will be videotaped, and the content will be streamed in QuickTime and available online. Additionally, an iPod digital music player will be given away to one fan at each event. To mark the occasion, Island Records is creating a limited-edition poster for each band/event that will be available only at the Oct. 15 shows.
Thursday’s new release, “War All The Time,” debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Top 200, while Thrice’s “The Artist In The Ambulance,” has sold more copies than the band’s last two releases combined.
