Computer Systems Odessa has released ConceptDraw V, an upgrade to the Mac OS X compatible flowcharting and diagramming application. The update features ConceptDraw Basic, a built-in scripting language that enables developers to create customized visualization solutions based on the ConceptDraw drawing engine.
ConceptDraw V lets you visually develop and express ideas in any combination of drawings, diagrams and charts. You can select pre-drawn shapes from over a hundred libraries and drag and drop them into complex configurations such as workflow designs, network diagrams and UML (Unified Modeling Language) notations.
In addition to ConceptDraw Basic, version V sports a completely rebuilt kernel, so the software consumes fewer resources, according to Computer Systems Odessa. And new features such as Vector Picture technology let users work with complex CAD documents. Other enhancements include a redesigned text editor, the ability to create custom styles, password protection and auto-save.
ConceptDraw V is available in Standard and Professional versions. The US$149 Standard Edition is aimed at business users, managers and administrative staff. The Professional Edition ($349 for a single-user license) is built specifically for IT, technical users and developers. Current users can upgrade to the Professional version for $99; the Standard license upgrade is $79. Discounts for educational users and users of other diagramming software are available.
