With the new television season underway, eagle-eyed prime time viewers may have seen Apple’s new thirty-second iPod television ad. If you missed it, however, you can check it out on
Apple’s Web site.
The spot uses the silhouette and solid color motif seen in print advertising, on billboards and trade show banners (like those recently hung for Apple Expo in Paris, France). The silhouetted figures, each holding iPods that stand out as white highlights against their black outlines, dance and gyrate wildly through the spot while a rainbow of colors cycle through the background.
“iPod” flashes on the screen followed by “Mac or PC.” Then the Apple logo appears.
The music featured in the ad, “Hey Mama,” is from hip hop group Black Eyed Peas’ album Elephunk. And as you might expect, both the album and the single are available for purchase from the iTunes Music Store.
