MYOB US Inc. has released MYOB AccountEdge 2004 for Mac, an update of the small business management and accounting software. The new version introduces a new suite of integrated business services, including credit card authorization and direct deposit of payroll checks.
MYOB AccountEdge tackles such duties as job tracking sales management, time billing, inventory and payroll. It includes invoice and check registers. Its features also include inventory and payroll, multiple currency accounting and professional time billing. MYOB AccountEdge for Mac can read MYOB Plus for Windows files and vice versa.
With AccountEdge 2004, you can create sales and authorize credit cards in one step. Electronic Vendor Payments let you take advantage of better credit terms often offered by vendors for prompt payments. Using Electronic Funds Transfers, businesses can pay their vendors without having to cut a check, according to MYOB.
MYOB SurePayroll — a full service payroll alternative for those who want to outsource their payroll — provides payroll processing, reporting, tax filing and direct deposit of employee paychecks; payroll data is integrated into AccountEdge.
AccountEdge 2004 adds an improved forms designer that simplifies the creation of personalized forms. There’s a new Statement of Cash Flows report that shows cash position fluctuation over a period of time. The Sub-jobs feature allows for the designation and placement of jobs within jobs. The Help button in AccountEdge 2004 has expanded to offer advice on situations for both the beginner and advanced user alike, as well as to simplify navigation of the Help Index.
It costs US$249; multi-user workstation licenses are $99 each. (There’s no info yet on upgrade pricing.) The application runs on Mac OS X (10.1 and higher) and Mac OS 8.6-9.x.
