Destineer subsidiary MacSoft announced on Thursday that its long-awaited Mac conversion of the strategy game Age of Mythology will ship to retailers on November 5, 2003.
Age of Mythology puts players in charge of one of nine different ancient civilizations as the guide their empire through commerce, development of new settlements and more. Players have the power of ancient mythological creatures at their disposal as they battle other empires for supremacy, deploying monsters like Minotaurs and Cyclopses against their enemies, and raining down destruction from the heavens by invoking the powers of their gods.
Developed by Age of Empires maker Ensemble Studios and published for the PC by Microsoft Corp., Age of Mythology comes to the Macintosh thanks to the development efforts of Westlake Interactive. Westlake’s own Project Status page lists the game as having reached its Beta development milestone. Westlake has been working on the game since early 2003.
System requirements for the game are projected to include a 450MHz or faster processor, 256MB RAM, 16MB video card and Mac OS X v10.2.6 or later.
