MacForce — an independent Portland, Ore., authorized Apple specialist — is opening InnerSpace, a showcase of digital lifestyle technology, on Friday.
Designed to mimic a home environment, InnerSpace will showcase new technology that helps automate home appliances. According to MacForce founder Shane Spiess, the center will show visitors how to use Macs to control everything from lights, heating and alarms to controlling a home theater. InnerSpace will also show how today’s digital media technology “can help increase home office efficiencies and make photo, music and video collection and sharing more fun and entertaining,” he added.
In celebration of the InnerSpace launch, MacForce is offering free seminars from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Friday, Oct. 10, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 11. During the weekend’s opening celebration, MacForce — located at 100 S.E. Salmon — will give away a 15GB iPod, a Harmony SST-768 Remote (a universal remote control), a home automation starter kit, and a copy of Apple’s iLife suite.
