MacOktoberfest in China? Yes. That’s the theme of the 21st gathering of the Beijing Macintosh User Group (BeiMac), which will be held Oct. 18 from 14:00-17:00 local time at the Baishihe Tower (5th floor US and Chinese; 4th floor UK) in Beijing.
Bluetooth technology will be demoed, and there will be a live connection via iChat to the Geraldton Macintosh User Group in Australia. The meeting will also feature a presentation on Chinese input with Mac OS X.
MacOktoberfest 2003 will be home to the iBar, an informal, bar-like setting, where members and non-members alike are free to exchange knowledge. The iBar will be open for 20 minutes and offer free drinks. Additionally, there will be a Cainiao (Chinese slang for “newbie”) session, a 30-minute period in which Mac pros will answer questions for new Mac users. Finally, there will be the “People’s Presentation,” a presentation focusing on a topic to be chosen by the BeiMac membership.
Directions to the Baishihe Tower are online, as are more details about MacOktobertfest 2003 and BeiMac.
