ProClip USA announced Monday that it has expanded its line of auto mounts compatible with the Apple iPod. The company was already producing auto mounts designed to fit Apple’s third-generation iPods; now earlier iPods are also supported.
The ProClip differs from other auto mounts in that it doesn’t use a beverage holder or a floor-mounted apparatus to hold the iPod in place. Instead, the ProClip mounts using a bracket that attaches to your car or truck’s dashboard or console without damaging it. The clip holding the iPod then attaches to that bracket, holding the device in place. ProClip also makes clips designed to work with PDAs, cell phones and other devices.
ProClip USA President Bjorn Spilling noted that the company’s existing ProClips already worked with Apple’s third-generation 10, 15, 20, 30 and 40GB iPod models. “Because of the tremendous response and inquiries about holders for the first generation Apple iPod 5GB and 10GB, our manufacturer in Sweden quickly added these to production,” he added.
The iPod holder with tilt swivel costs US$34.95. The dashboard or console mounting clip is sold separately; details on both are available from the Web site.
