Peripheral maker CMS Peripherals has changed its name to CMS Products. What’s more, the company announced today a lower price on its ABSplus, a hard drive-based automatic backup system.
Available in desktop and portable configurations, the ABSplus is a fully bootable hard drive. It also features “automatic launch” backup software that runs as soon as you plug the hard drive in. The backup software creates a mirror image of what’s on your computer’s internal hard drive — including all files, applications and operating system. That way, if your own Mac’s hard drive ever fails, you can recover immediately to a backup system and keep working.
The Portable ABSplus model is available in 20, 40, 60 and 80GB configurations for US$279, $329, $399 and $499 respectively. The ABSplus for Desktops system is available in 80, 120, 200 and 250GB capacities for $279, $329, $399 and $499 respectively.
