Content delivery service provider Speedera Networks Inc. on Tuesday announced that it has integrated Apple’s Darwin Streaming Server technology with Speedera’s own distributed delivery network. The integration now provides Speedera users with native QuickTime support, along with support for open standards like MPEG-4, according to the company.
The new service works in tandem with Speedera’s Smart Storage Manager service, SpeedEye management portal, and its Secure Streaming service. The company said that its native support of QuickTime provide utility for companies in the media and entertainment business who want to partner with Speedera to distribute movies and movie trailers, sports content, news and other media.
Speedera’s current clients include Upromise, Macromedia, Nvidia, NPR, Playboy.com, Bank of America and many others.
