Looking to add Serial ATA support to your older Power Mac, like Apple’s Power Mac G5? Upgrade maker Sonnet Technologies Inc. on Thursday announced its Tempo Serial ATA PCI host adapter.
Serial ATA offers data transfer speeds of up to 1.5Gbits/sec, and Sonnet’s Tempo card features a dual-port design that enables users to hook up up to two storage devices. It’s bootable fully compatible with Mac OS X v10.2 or later, as well as Mac OS 8 and Mac OS 9, according to Sonnet.
The Tempo Serial ATAI PCI host adapter will work in a variety of different Mac models, dating back to early PCI-based Power Mac models and Mac clones. For more information about the device, visit Sonnet’s Web site.
