United Developers LLC subsidiary MumboJumbo has announced the release of Equilibria. It’s a new puzzle game for Macs and Windows PC, and a Java-based version is available for online Web play from the MumboJumbo Web site.
In Equilibria, you’re faced with a group of multicolored marbles on a playing field. More marbles drop, from each cardinal point on the screen, and you have to make them disappear by clicking on three more of the same color. Balance must be maintained, because as the size of the field of marbles grows, the larger the number of marbles will fall.
The game features three different play modes, including Normal, Challenge and Survival. The game can be played in full screen or in a window, features high score modes, and a pause button. Special bonus marbles let you freeze the game for a few seconds to eliminate marbles, blow up whole rows or columns, and more.
A free trial version is available for download; if you like it, you can unlock it for $19.99. The Java version can be played online for free, but it lacks some of the features of the full game.
